3D printing on textiles – Mechanisms

Summary

Theoretical-practical workshop to explore the possibilities of the 3D printing on fabrics and to know the different emerging applications in the fashion industry, architecture, packaging, or the product design.

Mechanisms

Certain plants respond to external stimuli through the movement, there are receptive to exhibit quick moves and reactive on a time scale that we can perceive, as a response to changes in the environment that surrounds them.
The plants react in specific ways to the light, the temperature, the water or the carbon dioxide in the different conditions
weather, or as a defense, obtaining food or dispersion, through various mechanisms on the scales, macroscopic and microscopic.

The recent introduction of the new technologies of digital manufacturing opens up new perspectives and creative opportunities in the use of tissue.
Participants will learn the general concepts and notions basic techniques on types of materials and printing parameters, step-by-step in a practical way.
We will make different prototypes transforming a piece of fabric in a flexible structure three-dimensional by means of additive manufacturing.
