Writing workshop of Nature.

A workshop in collaboration with the writer Luci Romero (The art of counting the nature, 2023) to learn from a practical and experimental, what is the nature writing or in writing of the nature, in the Nature Park of Networks.

Nature has been narrated in very different ways, to the point that the mere practice of it ended up becoming a literary genre in itself. Root anglo-saxon, the nature writing (writing of the nature or liternatura) connects us, through the word, the essence of the earth, and endows us with tools to learn how to understand, value and protect the natural world that surrounds us.

When the book “The art of story-nature,” fell into our hands, we stopped to underline and make notes in the margins of its leaves, it was incredible the amount of connections with the mode of approach, to explore and feel the Nature from Laboratory Biomimetic! As some fans crazy, we contacted the author, the cultural manager, (former)library and poet Luci Romero, and asked to do a workshop to discover all the secrets of the nature writing and dedicate ourselves to shaping our own observations on the notebook. From the awe and fascination, to express with words our walks, looks and discoveries, putting in value the natural and cultural resource.

Therefore, we have prepared this course of observation, understanding, and writing of the nature, which will be developed in intensive format over a day in morning and evening. Through inspiring readings, practical exercises, and the support of Luci Romero, you will learn how to use words as tools to convey the essence and connection with the natural environment.

Aimed at all those people who want to develop their skills of observation and appreciation of nature through writing. No previous knowledge required, only an open mind and a passion for nature.

Luci Romero

Luci Romero (Goat, 1980) is a cultural manager, (former)library and poet. He has published several poetry collections as eastern Highway, The flood, the Western and The time of burning, as well as collaborated in several anthologies. Participated for nearly a decade in the magazine radio Coffee with a view, in Ràdio Klara, where she was in charge of the book section. It was one of the founders, in the year 2013, the library Bartleby, in the valencian neighborhood of Russafa; one of the cultural determinants of the city for almost a decade.
Now read everything you can about nature and walks around with his bitch Dune.

His recent work “The art of having the nature of” travels through lush forests, icy seas, dusty deserts, deep oceans and snow-capped mountains in search of the themes, the stories, and the most representative authors of a way of telling the wild, whose echoes we move into the NINETEENTH century, reaching to our days with a renewed vitality. In fact, this 'greening' of the genre in recent years is symptomatic of a time of acceleration and extreme confusion, to which we should hold on to certain beliefs traditional to the same, such as the calm, contemplation, patience or care of our local environment. This is the only way we will be able to re-experience the wonder and fascination necessary to regain balance and temperance own a life in accordance with nature. Henry David Thoreau, Susan Fenimore Cooper, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mary Austin, Aldo Leopold, Rachel Carson, Barry López, Joaquín Araujo or Amy Liptrot are just a few of the names that parade through these pages, which are not intended to be a compendium of the history of a genre, but an approach of initiation to a sensitivity that is specific for the world that welcomes us.

Friday 1 September, She will present her book at the Centro Cultural Vicente Álvarez de Rioseco, Sobrescobio. Free Entry.
